Ciudades Comunes es una invitación a construir una narrativa urbana que celebra la diversidad cultural de Stuttgart a través de las historias de personas de diferentes orígenes y su conexión con la ciudad.

A través de la creación de mapas físicos y emocionales, el proyecto revela cómo la diversidad étnica y cultural da forma a Stuttgart. Estos mapas, trazados desde las geografías personales de sus habitantes, nos permiten redescubrir la ciudad desde una perspectiva diferente. Para ello, nos enfocamos en conceptos clave como integración, inclusión, sentido de pertenencia, noción de hogar y resiliencia.

De este modo, exploramos nuevas formas de habitar y expresar la ciudad desde una mirada más amplia. Al incorporar recuerdos personales en los espacios urbanos, generamos narrativas que invitan a la reflexión, fomentan el diálogo y promueven la acción. Estas narrativas permiten redescubrir la ciudad a través de diversas perspectivas, deseos e inquietudes, ofreciendo maneras alternativas de comprender la realidad que nos rodea y que también habitamos.

Espacios que cuentan historias de personas, y personas que dan voz a los espacios. Estas historias, con toda su diversidad y esencia, serán narradas por sus propios protagonistas. A través de sus miradas, deseos, silencios, gestos e inquietudes, revelaremos una Stuttgart oculta: poderosa, sensible y transformadora. Una ciudad que, en su riqueza de vivencias, genera nuevas formas de entender y habitar la realidad compartida.

Este proyecto se realizó en el marco de »Jetzt! Espacios de Arte y Sociedad« Festival KulturRegion Stuttgart 2024, con los apoyos de la ciudad de Stuttgart y la Akademie Schloss Solitude.

Common Cities is an invitation to build together an urban narrative that celebrates Stuttgart’s cultural diversity through the stories of people from different backgrounds and their connection to the city.

Through the creation of physical and emotional maps, the project reveals how ethnic and cultural diversity shapes Stuttgart. These maps, drawn from the personal geographies of its inhabitants, allow us to rediscover the city from a different perspective. To do so, we focus on key concepts such as integration, inclusion, sense of belonging, notion of home and resilience.

In this way, we explore new ways of inhabiting and expressing the city from a broader perspective. By incorporating personal memories into urban spaces, we generate narratives that invite reflection, encourage dialogue, and promote action. These narratives allow us to rediscover the city through diverse perspectives, desires and concerns, offering alternative ways of understanding the reality that surrounds us and that we also inhabit.

Spaces that tell stories of people, and people who give voice to the spaces. These stories, with all their diversity and essence, will be told by their protagonists. Through their looks, desires, silences, gestures and concerns, we will reveal a hidden Stuttgart: powerful, sensitive and transformative. A city that, in its wealth of experiences, generates new ways of understanding and inhabiting the shared reality. 

This project was realized within the framework of “Jetzt! Spaces for Art and Society” Festival KulturRegion Stuttgart 2024, with the support of the City of Stuttgart and the Akademie Schloss Solitude.
