Despedidas: rituales para decir adiós, fue la idea central con la que trabajamos en esta colaboración con Volk*s Theater Rampe y su festival «A la muerte, la vida y el barrio». La fiesta, que incluía cinco momentos diferentes dirigidos por 5 artistas, trabajó sobre y con despedidas y celebraciones.

Nuestra propuesta se componía de varias historias individuales con intérpretes del Volk*s Theater nacidos en países extranjeros o relacionados emocionalmente con ellos. Por lo tanto, intentar crear o recrear gestos para despedirse de diferentes maneras y culturas era el concepto central. El proceso se centró en conversaciones individuales con los intérpretes para llegar a estos gestos de despedida, a estas acciones de adiós.

Así, los breves monólogos que interpretó cada actor se inspiraron directamente en sus experiencias y su bagaje cultural: ¿de qué quiero despedirme? ¿Cómo podría despedirme de algo o de alguien de la persona que soy hoy?

Recuerdos, pequeños objetos y fotografías, música en diferentes idiomas, bailes… todo ello formaba parte de este ejercicio de memoria y de mirar al pasado desde el futuro y al futuro desde el pasado.

Los gestos, las palabras, los cuerpos estaban conectados por la intimidad y la honestidad de esos testimonios. De ellos nunca nos despediremos.

Gracias a todos los artistas y al equipo que participaron en este momento y en esta fiesta.

Farewells: rituals to say goodbye, was the central idea we worked with in this collaboration with Volk*s Theater Rampe and their festival “To Death, Life and Neighborhood”. The party, which included five different moments directed by 5 artists, worked on and with farewells and celebrations.

Our moment was composed of several individual stories with Volk*s Theater performers born in or emotionally connected to foreign countries. Therefore, trying to create or recreate gestures to say goodbye in different ways and cultures was the central concept. The process focused on individual conversations with the performers to arrive at these gestures of farewell, these actions of goodbye.

Thus, the short monologues that each actor performed were directly inspired by their experiences and cultural background: what do I want to say goodbye to? How could I say goodbye to something or someone from the person I am today?

Remembrances, small objects and photographs, music in different languages, dances… all this was part of this exercise of memory and of looking at the past from the future and the future from the past.

The gestures, the words, the bodies were connected by the intimacy and honesty of those testimonies. To them we will never say goodbye.
