Este proyecto es una especie de obsesión artística/socio-política. 

Es una investigación documental que se centra en las experiencias migratorias de mujeres latinoamericanas residentes en la región de Baden-Wurtemberg. Analiza sus vivencias relacionadas con su llegada a Alemania, las diversas formas en que enfrentan el proceso de “integración”, y cómo la legislación alemana enmarca este proceso desde el punto de vista jurídico y político. 

Los ejes principales del proyecto son: ¿Qué significa integrarse en una nueva sociedad? ¿Qué se lleva y qué se abandona? ¿Cuáles son las renuncias, las adaptaciones afectivas y los cambios en el comportamiento social? ¿Cómo se aborda este proceso desde el cuerpo, la fortaleza y la fragilidad de las mujeres que llegan de otro continente?

Como parte del proyecto, decidimos crear un material que pudiera entrelazar creativamente los distintos archivos recogidos y generados durante el proceso de trabajo. Hemos llamado ÁLBUM a este material. Este formato nos permite recoger testimonios y materiales de diferente tipología, como fotografías, textos, gráficos, códigos, líneas de tiempo y referencias a otros archivos de vídeo y audio, sin perder su cualidad de registro sensible, una especie de gesto para la Memoria.

El ÁLBUM abre una ventana a los sentidos, a los recuerdos, al presente, a la fragilidad de un proceso que, paradójicamente, es difícil de recoger en un formato bidimensional, y que quiere terminar con una pregunta que mira al futuro: un futuro más inclusivo. Este intento es, por tanto, un gesto simbólico para cartografiar la naturaleza insondable de los procesos afectivos, de adaptación y ajuste cultural.

This project is an artistic/socio-political obsession.

It is a documentary research that focuses on the migratory experiences of Latin American women living in the Baden-Württemberg region. It analyzes their experiences related to their arrival in Germany, the different ways in which they face the process of “integration”, and how German legislation frames this process from a legal and political point of view.

The main issues are: What does it mean to integrate into a new society? What is taken and what is left behind? What are the renunciations, affective adaptations and changes in social behavior? How is this process approached from the body, the strength and the fragility of women arriving from another continent?

As part of the project, we decided to create a material that could creatively interweave the different files collected and generated during the work process. We called this material ALBUM. This format allows us to collect testimonies and materials of different typology, such as photographs, texts, graphics, codes, timelines and references to other video and audio files, without losing its quality of sensitive record, a kind of gesture for Memory.

The ALBUM opens a window to the senses, to memories, to the fragility of a process (which, paradoxically, is difficult to capture in a two-dimensional format). It is a window that seeks to end with a question that looks to the future: a more inclusive future. This attempt is, therefore, a symbolic gesture to map the unfathomable nature of affective processes, of adaptation and cultural adjustment.
