Una camioneta recorre el país. Un país distorsionado que se reinventa a través de las voces de cuatro seres (imaginados, fantásticos, ficcionados por el imaginario enloquecido de una nación fantasma).

Outsiders es el fruto de una investigación sobre la pertenencia, sobre la acidez de una isla implosionada y endogámica, pintoresca y singular. La entidad inspiradora de esta obra se da en llamar Ianina Poyesis, un alma evocada que jamás aparece, salvo al final, para declarar como una emperatriz su statement invariable, su omnipotencia incomprensible ante la audiencia que la espera como una estrella de rock, o tal vez como la voz de la Big Sister, que todos conocen pero nadie había escuchado (…) Hay algo que no se reconoce en ella y que a la vez es familiar, tal vez la decadencia. El culto a sí misma que la hace tan famosa como la perra Laika y el Sputnik, como la tierra circunvalada por Yuri Gagarin y Arnaldo Tamayo.

Alessandra Santiesteban, maestra de las letras delirantes y las historias que se mueven entre los límites de la ciencia ficción política, la canción protesta, las ruinas de la verborrea de los sistemas socialistas, y el rumor de aquello que en estos sistemas se instaura como leyenda popular; explora en esta pieza un lenguaje esquizoide que se niega a construir la narrativa teatral clásica, los diálogos posibles de seguir con una lógica lineal. La autora es una outsider en sí misma, tiene una camioneta logocéntrica en la que hace una inmersión (bastante tragicómica) a las profundidades de un país destrozado pero inspirado, una nación aburrida de sí misma que necesita una heroína para verificarse y no desaparecer en el olvido.

«A van travels through the country. A distorted country that reinvents itself through the voices of four beings (imagined, fantastic, fictionalized by the crazed imaginarium of a ghost nation).

Outsiders is the result of an investigation on belonging, on the acidity of an imploded, inbred, colorful and singular island. The inspiring entity of this work is called Ianina Poyesis, an evoked soul who never appears, except at the end, to declare her unchanging statement, her incomprehensible omnipotence in front of the audience that waits for her like a rock star, or perhaps like the voice of the Big Sister, which everyone knows but no one had heard (…) There is something unrecognizable in her and yet familiar, perhaps decadence. The cult of herself that makes her as famous as the dog Laika and Sputnik, as the earth circumnavigated by Yuri Gagarin and Arnaldo Tamayo.

Alessandra Santiesteban, master of delirious lyrics and stories that move between the limits of political science fiction, protest songs, the ruins of the verbiage of socialist systems, and the rumor of that which in these systems is established as popular legend. In this piece she explores a schizoid language that refuses to construct the classic theatrical narrative, the dialogues that are possible to follow with a linear logic. The author is an outsider in herself, she has a logocentric van in which she makes a (rather tragicomic) immersion into the depths of a shattered country, a nation bored with itself that needs a heroine to verify itself and not disappear into oblivion».
